This is her letter….

If I could write only one letter, it would be to my sister, Suzy.

Imagine that you were getting a really bad grade in High School math.  You hated math.  Really hated it…so much so that your parents had to have a meeting with your math teacher to discuss it.  And then imagine that your math teacher listened to their concerns…and yours.  Your math teacher took a step back to understand you and why you hated math.  And then she did something unexpected and changed her teaching style so you might start being a little interested in math…and actually start liking it…maybe even loving it.  And you start digging math so much that you go from getting a really bad grade to a really good grade…because you had a teacher who took the time to listen to you, understand you, and care about you.

That two-time TEACHER OF THE YEAR is my sister, Suzy.

Imagine that you’re on the girl’s High School basketball team and the team is not very good.  In fact, the team is really pretty bad.  But your coach shows up everyday, excited to help you get better as a basketball player and a human being. She teaches you how to work together…to become a team…and eventually, you start winning a few games…and a few more games…and you become a winning team.

That COACH is my sister,  Suzy.

Imagine that you’re a six year old girl, and you and your four year old sister get to spend a week with your aunt.  She builds sets for plays and lets you dress her up in crazy costumes.  She’s willing to be “It” at tag every time because you would prefer to hide.  She sparkles and makes everything you do more fun.

That AUNT is my sister, Suzy.

Suz, you put your heart and soul into everything you do.  You’re wicked smart, passionate, you make everyone around you a better person and you’re F-U-N!  You make the most of every moment and you enjoy the ride.  I marvel at the impact you makes on people’s lives as a teacher, coach, friend, aunt, daughter… and I am so proud to call you my sister.

Do you have a sister, brother, Aunt, Uncle…..someone that’s made a difference in your life? Let them know…..today~
